March 2012 Pierre Darmon Steps Down The French IC has seen a change in leadership when in the latest AGM Pierre Darmon retired as President. In the photo the new French IC's President Thierry Pham presents Pierre Darmon with a superb watch as a gift from the club for his 8 years as a President of the International Tennis Club of France. Pierre is well known as one of France’s top tennis players having had more wins and more singles wins than any other Frenchman in the Davis Cup. He also reached the finals of the French Open in 1963 where he lost to Roy Emerson. In 2002 he was honoured with the Davis Cup Award of Excellence. Pierre, who is married to charming and well known Mexican tennis star Rosie Reyes, has been made President of the Comite d’Honneur of the IC of France. We wish him and Rosie all the best in his retirement and we hope to see them both at many a future IC event.
