Report 3 from the IC Junior Challenge World-wide Finals

G'Day from Australia,

The IC Junior Challenge world wide finals continues to progress well and the results of the third days play are as follows:

South Africa 5    Argentina  1

Germany 4      Australia    2

India    3        USA    3    ( Mixed tie break to be played to decide result)

At present South Africa and Germany remain as the only two teams with a 100% win record.  South Africa's win over Argentina was a key one for them and closer than the overall result suggests as both doubles matches were won on final set tie breaks with the boys going to 13-11 before winning it.   The USA and India are tied 3 all in their search for a first win and a mixed doubles tie break will decide this later today.  Full detailed results are on the Tennis South Australia website where instructions for accessing were on an earlier report and are posted on our IC website along with earlier reports.

Off the court has also been very active for the juniors with the visit to Adelaide Zoo being a great success.   We will be checking luggage on departure to see if anyone has sneaked a Koala into it to take home  as a pet !

This morning we held a disability clinic in which all the juniors joined in and everyone enjoyed.   As well as being appreciated by the disability athletes it was a good mixer and ice breaker for the juniors compared to the more intense inter country matches they have been playing.

I have mentioned it before but once again a big thanks to Tennis South Australia who have been organising this whole part of our IC Junior Challenge World Wide finals for us.  As well as our event they have many other activities going on from a professional tennis event, a wheelchair event,  cardio tennis, a corporate challenge and their Country Carnival for club players.  It is all very impressive and it helps to show our juniors that there is a whole wide world of tennis outside of the junior circuit to be enjoyed in  "tennis - the game for life".
