Compass IC Junior Challenge Worldwide Finals in Monte Carlo

The sixth Worldwide Finals of The Compass IC Junior Challenge are all set to go at the beautiful Monte Carlo Country Club with the first matches starting on Monday 5th September.

USA the defending champions from the 2014 finals at Wimbledon are back again having again won the North American division in 2015.  They will have tough competition from the other regional winners which were Japan, Spain, Argentina and South Africa.  These five countries will be joined by a team from the host nation Monaco to make the full group of six nations.

The event will be played over five days from Monday 5th September to Friday 9th September with all teams playing each other on a round robin basis.  Each inter country match consists of two boys singles, two girls singles plus a boys and girls doubles.  If the teams are tied after this a tie break mixed doubles is played to decide the winning team and this has happened many times!

As junior Jan-Louis Maritz of South Africa said after the last worldwide finals at Wimbledon “ It was an incredible week and I will remember it the rest of my life” .  We are confident that with the wonderful setting of Monte Carlo Country Club and the efficient organisation of The IC of Monaco that this too will be a wonderful experience for the juniors involved and a great introduction to the IC Philosophy of “ Hands across the net, friendship across the ocean”.

Daily results and photos are planned to be put up on the IC Council website during the week for all to follow.
