IC Week 2014 in Mexico: ICs of Italy and France end as winners

With 170 people attending - 120 players and 50 companions, the 2014 IC Week in Mexico City was a great celebration of the 40th Anniversary of the IC of Mexico.

Italy and France were the big winners, with IC Italy taking the Windmill and the Mercelis trophies, and IC France taking the Columbus and the Juego de Pelota tournaments.

10 countries (Austria, Bahamas, Belgium, France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Luxembourg, Mexico and the United States) participated with 27 teams taking place across four tennis clubs (Club Aleman, Club France, Club Raqueta Bosques and Reforma Athletic Club). 8 teams participated in Windmill, 8 in Mercelis, 6 in Columbus and 5 in Juego de Pelota.

The visitors were granted access to the famous Anthropological Museum and the Chapultepec Castle. There was also a ""Parrillada"" in the Reforma Club and the gala and awards dinner in the German Club.

The players and companions enjoyed an almost perfect weather during the full week of April 13-19.

Many IC players also participated in 4 Philanthropy clinics, one per club, for the ball boys of the clubs. The ball boys were very exited to be able to interact with world known players and take some advice for their own games. For most, this was the first time that they took a tennis lesson.

Photographs and videos can all be seen here.

From the early reports, it seems that everyone greatly enjoyed the tennis, the friendship and the social events of this IC Week, where there were players aged in their 20's, 30's, 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's all taking part. Detailed results of all matches are available here.

Thank you very much for coming and see you again soon in another IC event !
