October 2012 Germany´s IC Nations Trophy 2012 in Bad Vilbel Germany´s IC Nations Trophy 2012 in Bad Vilbel - sponsored by Rosbacher - IC Germany organized the 3rd issue of its IC Nations Trophy end of September 2012 in Bad Vilbel, the home town of this year´s sponsor Rosbacher (a leading mineral water brand). IC teams from GB, USA , Luxembourg and Germany played a round robin tournament. As in previous years, each match consisted of 6 singles and 3 doubles in following categories: Men open, 35+, 40+ and 45+; ladies open and 40+. The matches of the first 2 days were dominated by the teams from GB and Germany. The tie between GB and Germany on Sunday logically was a real final on a very high level. IC Germany lined up several former ATP top 100 players, but had to substitute their best ladies in the singles. Finally a close champions-tie-break in one of the 2 men´s doubles saw IC Germany as lucky winner of the match and the whole event. All results are shown on an extra sheet. Alex Kurucz, president of IC Germany, also presented trophies to the best individual players of the tournament. These were: Ladies open: Lesley Hardenbergh (USA) Ladies 40+: Nina Topper (GB) Men offen: Tomas Behrend (Ger) Men 35+: Sebastian Jackson (GB) Men 40+: Dirk Dier (Ger) Men 45+: Rainer Marzenell (Ger) A winning team was also the organization crew of Tennisclub Bad Vilbel, led by president Dirk Hinkel, a member of IC Germany and CEO of the main sponsor Rosbacher. The gala-dinner on Friday, also attended by Dr. Karl-Georg Altenburg (president of the German Tennis Federation), as well as the "Oktoberfest" on Saturday night were real highlights and very much liked by all players and guests.
