Participation of IC Brasil around the world

The year 2022 was highly representative of IC Brasil, worldwide.

IC BRASIL PARTICIPATION IN WIMBLENDON 2022
President Mario Martins, represents IC Brazil at the event.


On July 3, 2022, Mr. Mario Martins, president of IC Brasil, participated in the AGM of The Council of International Lawn Tennis Clubs, held at the headquarters of LTA - Lawn Tennis Association – Tennis in Great Britain, located in the city of Roehampton.


The 42 Presidents of the Council member countries approved the IC Global accounts, as well as the 2023 budget. On the occasion, the presidents had the opportunity to present the activities carried out in 2021 and 2022, and the calendar of events scheduled for 2023, in their respective countries.

After the AGM, they went to the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, to watch Wimbledon matches, the most traditional tennis events in the world.

Mario Martins – President of IC Brasil was present at the traditional lunch offered by the LTA Lawn Tennis Association and the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, to all members of The Council of International Lawn Tennis Clubs, during the traditional Grand Slan.

 

TRIBUTE TO THE PRESIDENT OF IC BRAZIL IN ROLAND GARROS

Mário Martins is honored with the highest honor given to foreigners by IC France.

IC Brasil was present at the Traditional Opening Cocktail of Roland Garros, offered on May 22 by Gilles Moretton President of FFT - French Tennis Federation and Gail Benedetti – Interim President of IC France, at Clubs de Loges Restaurant – Le 1928 – Curt Suzanne Lenglen – Roland Garros. The President of IC Brazil, Mario Martins was represented by Partner Ernani Guilhon, who received the Yearbook 2022 with the record of the highest Honor given to foreigners, Mario Martins as Honorary Partner of IC France, from the hands of Thierry Phan – President of IC France and also director of the FFT - French Tennis Federation.

 

In addition to Mario Martins, only 2 Brazilians received such an honor, Thomaz Koch, the first Brazilian tennis player to win the mixed doubles tournament at Roland-Garros, in 1975, and Robert Falkenburg, tennis champion at the Wimbledon tournament in 1948.

An important moment of fraternization and exchange of experiences among IC members.

 

INTERNATIONAL TENNIS CLUB OF THE UNITED STATE OF AMERICA 90TH
ANNIVERSARY IC WEEK

Brazil is represented by President Mario Martins

During the period from August 21st to 26th in Washington DC, the IC US received several countries and regions for the celebration of its 90 years: Germany, Luxembourg, Mexico, Belgium, United Kingdom, France, Switzerland, New Zealand, South Africa , Bahamas, Barbados, Ireland, Canada and the representatives of South America, formed by IC Brazil, Chile and Argentina.

5 Events were held in categories with different ages, for Male and Female:

• Columbus Trophy;
• Pelota game;
• La Carreta;
• Mercelis Trophy;
• Windmill Trophy.

To meet the large number of games, IC USA loaned 7 Clubs:

• Chevy Chase Club;
• Bethesda Country Club;
• Columbia Country Club;
• Congress Country Club;
• Edemoor Tennis Club;
• Kenwood Country Club;
• Woodmont Country Club.

The most varied attractions marked the event, such as: Tourism, Parties, Gastronomy Events, Fantastic Clubs. In addition, of course, with the cordial Hospitality with which the athletes and guests were received by the organizers and Directors of IC USA.

At the official dinner of the event, Mario Martins, President of IC Brasil, honored Mr. Donald Tansey President of IC USA as an Honorary Member of IC Brasil, and presented him with the Official Tie of Brazilian Members

 

IC BRASIL AT LAVER CUP 2022

Brazil was represented at the event that marked the farewell of the legend RF.

Held at The O2 Arena complex in the city of London, between the 23rd and 25th of September, the 2022 edition of the Laver Cup entered the history of world tennis, the main highlight was the farewell of one of the great idols of world tennis, the legend Roger Federer.

On the occasion, IC Brasil was represented by the members, Nelson Aerts Executive Secretary, Fernando Gentil Administrative Director and the tennis player and great Brazilian idol Luis Mattar Honorary Member of the IC.
