IC OF ARGENTINA – 65th ANNIVERSARY
IC MEN’S DOUBLES EVENT – MARCH 13-17, 2012
Kicking off the celebration of its 65th Anniversary, the IC Argentina will organize a Men’s Doubles Event, following the celebration of the IC Uruguay’s 30th Anniversary, on March 8-12, 2012.
DATES: Arrival Tuesday March 13th, departure Saturday March 17th, 2012.
TEAMS: The competition will consist of a maximum of six teams. Each team will consist of four male players (two +60 and two +70). A Men’s Doubles in each category will be played in each match. In case of a tie, a one-set tie-breaker will be played, featuring one player +60 and one player +70 per team.
FORMAT: There will be two round robin groups of three teams each. Teams will play each other in their group on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Given the format adopted, each team will have a full day off to enjoy the City of Buenos Aires, if they wish. Winners of each group will play each other in the Finals, on Saturday morning. Runner-ups will play for third and fourth place. There will be a closing Presentation Lunch on Saturday, to allow teams to depart on evening flights, if they wish.
VENUE: A local prestigious club in Buenos Aires or the outskirts, still to be determined.
MEALS: The following meals will be provided:
- Cocktail Reception on Tuesday March 13th
- Daily buffet breakfast at the Hotel
- Lunch at the Club on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
- Dinner on Thursday March 15th
- Closing Lunch on Saturday March 17th
TRANSPORTATION: Teams will be responsible for their own transportation from/to the airport. Transportation to/from the Club will be provided.
CITY TOUR: A City Tour will be provided to teams on their off-day, if they wish.
COSTS: The cost to each player, which will cover all of the above (including 4 nights of accommodation), will be USD700 in a double room. An additional fee of USD250 will be charged to those who wish to stay in a single room. There will be no Team Entry Fee. Supporters and friends will pay the same as players.
ENTRIES: Will be accepted on a first come first served basis, and confirmed upon receipt of a deposit of one half of the applicable fee for four-player teams (e.g. USD1,400 per team in two double rooms), no later than December 23rd, 2011. The balance of the fee may be paid upon arrival, on March 13th, 2012. Wiring instructions will be provided to the ICs entering a team. Fees for friends and supporters will be subject to the same deadline, in order to secure the necessary rooms.
