18-19 April 2009
30th Anniversary of the IC Monaco

The highlight of our IC year was the celebration of our 30th anniversary to which 10 IC nations attended with a total of 110 guests coming from many different European countries and South Africa. Although rather an unusual way to celebrate, for the anniversary did not include an IC competition, for many it was a first opportunity to attend the Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters and enabled them to enjoy some very impressive tennis for the semi-finals and final of the Tournament that saw the world champion, Rafael Nadal, win for the fifth consecutive time.
We were delighted to count among our guests the Chairman of the Council, Mr. Barry Weatherill and the Secretary, Mr. Peter McQuibban, Pierre Darmon, President of IC France and Member of the Council and the new President of the FFT, Mr. Jean Gachassin as well as the President of the Monegasque Tennis Federation, Mrs. Elizabeth-Ann de Massy.
The high point of the occasion was the IC dinner during which so many different IC’s spent a moment of conviviality and friendship and that was honoured by the presence of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco, Honorary President of the IC Monaco, who was made Honorary Member of both the IC Great Britain and IC France.
We would like to thank all the IC’s who attended our event for making it such a memorable event.
