Tennis Clinic Kickstarts IC U16 Junior Challenge World Finals

The 2014 IC U16 Junior Challenge Worldwide Finals kicked off with a clinic for local state primary school children yesterday. In glorious sunshine the clinic was run by Dan Bloxham, the Head Coach at The AELTC, and Barry Cowan a former professional player and currently a TV commentator for Sky Sports.

It provided the perfect opportunity to introduce children from less privileged backgrounds to tennis, and a wonderful opportunity for competitors at the Junior Challenge to give something back to the game.

Play then started at 11am with Great Britain vs Argentina, Italy vs Japan and South Africa vs USA. Full details with all the results will be available daily on the IC of GB website - accessible via the striped flags to the right of the page.

For full details about the event, including player and captain profiles, schedule, tournament history, welcome message from David Waite (IC of GB Chairman), a Q&A with Peter McQuibban (IC Council Chairman) and other relevant information please download a copy of the event programme.
