The Spanish team beat defending champions IC Italy decisively in the final. David De Miguel put Spain ahead, beating Giovanni Lelli Mami 6-0 6-2. Enrico Casadei briefly brought the visitors level, with a 6-0 6-1 win over Miquel Puigdevall. Carlos Costa-Bou then beat Massimiliano Sirchio 6-2 6-1, and Francisco Garcia clinched the tie with a 6-2 7-6(5) win over Edoardo Mazza. Eduard Osta ensured a 4-1 overall scoreline by beating Nando Cavalleri 6-4 6-2 in the last match. 

The IC Spain began its campaign by beating IC Great Britain 5-0 in the first round, and survived a thrilling semi final against IC France, edging to a 4-3 win. 

Once again the players demonstrated a high standard of play in a competition that was played in festive spirits throughout, illustrating once more how sport can extend friendship across the borders.
