IC South Africa win Southern Africa IC Junior Challenge

The South African team once again triumphed in the Southern Africa Junior Challenge played at the German Club, Johannesburg, proving too strong for a 4 nations invitation team and teams from Lesotho and Botswana.

Whilst SA went through unbeaten, there was a keen tussle in the match between Lesotho and Botswana with the latter emerging victorious in the end.  Friendship across the net was very evident and it was clear that the players had a great weekend.  New friendships were forged around the braai fire on one night and the players were also treated to an evening of pizza and movies on another night.

A clinic for disadvantaged children was held during the event and some 20 youngsters from Soweto and Vosloorus were put through their paces.    Each player and coach received a shirt – these were part of a consignment of new clothing sent to us after the Brussels Open and which the IC South Africa has had much pleasure in distributing.

The South African juniors and supporters alike are really looking forward to the experience of visiting Monte Carlo in 2016!   Thank you Monaco!
